Oden Going Pro

Looks like Greg Oden will join fellow freshman Kevin Durant in the NBA Draft. His father told the Indianapolis Star earlier tonight that he is happy with his sons choice and is quoted saying why would he risk injury? (playing another season in college). Oden's father also informed the newspaper that fellow Buckeye Mike Conley Jr, a former Indiana high school teammate of Oden's is also going to enter the draft as will freshman Daequan Cook. All players have until midnight on April 29th to offically enter themselves in the draft.

My reaction: I am not surprised for all these players have NBA-caliber game and they had a meanigful college basketball experience reaching the National Championship after an exciting season. In upcoming posts I will write about who should be picked number 1 in this upcoming draft.

Also, No more Baller of The Day Awards will be given out until playoff time with very few games remaining in the season, the majority of them meaningless.

Have a good weekend.

SLAM reader as well. as a big college bball fan it is disappointing to see all the talent go to the nba but it feels good tht it should be talented every year with the new 1 yr. of college rule. i personally feel tht in not winning the national 'chip both oden and durant have unfinished businees. it would have been nice to see their competitive drive make them stay to win it all. i understand their decision as well and look forward to watching them on the big stage.

im a new blogger i love the nba and college bball.i dont have a fav nba team but i dont like the spurs. im a big time unc fan and a huge yankees fan.

I'm not surprised Greg Oden is going pro if in fact he is. The money and prestige of going #1 is too alluring. Greg Oden knows from last year that injury is a real possibility, so there's no need to risk it! Kevin durant needs to eat something soon! He is skin and bones! I saw him at the Oscar Robertson Awards Breakfast and I was genuinely disturbed. He looks like a baby!
